PREPARATION OF NEW SURFACE
All surfaces must be free from dirt and dust. The plaster should be left to dry for at least three weeks before painting. Remove all nibs and other excrescence by using emery stone, glasspaper, etc. make god any surface detects with proper cement render and allow it to dry.
PREPARATION OF PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES
Scrape to remove all old paint, which is loose and flaking, thoroughly bush off from the pores of old distempers, cement paints, etc. Apply one normal coat of Rainbow Perfecton Wall Primer Sealer or Rainbow Water Based Wall Primer. Make good the defects of the wall by using proper cement render.
PRIMER COAT
If efflorescence is occurring, remove with stiff scrubbing brush. Apply Rainbow Perfecton Wall Primer Sealer or Rainbow Water Based Wall Primer with brush. If necessary, thin with ½ liter (500 cc) of genuine mineral turpentine to 4 liters of Perfecton. On previously painted surface, apply a thinner coat even if the surface is in good condition. For thinning, use 1 liter of turpentine to 4 liters of Primer. Allow it to dry overnight.
FINISHING COAT
2 to 3 coats of Rainbow Weather Guard should be applied with brush, roller or spray. For the first 2 coats, it may be thinned with equal volume of water. In the third coat, a little more water may be added, if required.
COVERAGE
Coverage will be depend on surface and application but on an average, 1 Gallon (4 Liters) of Rainbow Weather Guard will cover 300 to 350 Sq.ft per Gallon on a normal smooth surface. If the surface is rough or absorbent, coverage will be less.
